Firstly, I’m guessing some of you may be wondering how to pronounce this baby boy’s traditional Irish name- Tadhg is pronounced ‘Tige’, like tiger without the ‘r’. It may be my new favourite name. He may not have the stripes of a tiger, but he does have the cutest button nose all covered in milk spots, as you may have seen from my other blog posts- they’re my favourite!
What are Milk Spots (AKA Milia)?
Around 50% of all babies develop small, white spots around their noses (they can also be around eyes, cheeks and the forehead), known as milk spots, or milia. They actually have nothing to do with milk / breastfeeding aside from being white.
Milia are around 1-2mm in size and hard to the touch as they are filled with Keratin. Milk spots usually only last for a few weeks- they cause no harm and go away naturally.
The Important Part- Tadhg’s Newborn Portraits!
Tadhg’s mum Sarah chose classic baby blue, mint green and neutral grey for their setups. I used photo props from Red Owl Photo Props, Baby Prop Shop, Emerald Photo Props, Owly Boutique (local wool crafter!), CwtchiCoo, Baby J Knits, Love Rosalie & more! You can see that our prop collection is growing exponentially!
